Biography

Thilo Garus is a German filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin. Originally trained in architecture, he transitioned early into the world of contemporary art, where performance and spatial awareness became central to his practice.


Rooted in an art background shaped by durational performance and physical presence, Thilo brings a distinct sensibility to filmmaking. His work often explores identity, movement, and myth within the context of urban life. In films such as The Echo of Two Diverging Whispers and JANUS, he fuses dance, fashion, and cinematic storytelling into pared-down, atmospheric compositions.
