Niko SCHMID-BURGK

Niko SCHMID-BURGK is an extremely versatile photographer, capturing personalities for his classic portraits, high-end commercial campaigns as well as selected fashion editorials in exquisite locations. 

He is a master of light, which he uses to create unique and detail oriented looks in studio or on location. 

 

Biography

After completing his studies at the Bavarian academy for photography in Munich he spend two years as an assistant for fashion photographers before going on a business trip to Australia where he decided to stay and start his career as a freelance photographer. He established himself as a regular photographer for Australian Vogue during which he shot many celebrities. After a three year stay in Sydney he decided to return to Germany in 1991 and opened his own studio in Munich. 
 Next to his editorial work he has also created many big national and international campaigns, shooting for well known advertising agencies and clients around the world. Not only does Niko Schmid-Burgk work on big international campaigns like recently for Montblanc with Hugh Jackman but also on projects like a documentation for the German world hunger organization portraying people and their fate in various flash points of the world. Niko now lives and works in Italy.
