Michael Ullrich is a multidisciplinary artist working across photography, film, and sound at the intersection of art, fashion, and contemporary culture. His work is defined by a direct, distinctive visual language and the creation of clearly articulated visual worlds.
Michael Ullrich is a multidisciplinary artist working at the intersection of photography, film, and sound, as well as art, fashion, and editorial. He moves fluidly between independent artistic work and commercial projects, defined by a direct, distinctive visual language and the development of clearly articulated visual worlds. He studied photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg and was a master student of Juergen Teller. Ullrich has received international awards, including for his work in music videos, and from the Society of Publication Designers in New York. His works are held in important public collections, including the Pinakothek der Moderne, the Kunstpalais Erlangen, and Bunkier Sztuki in Krakow. His work has been shown internationally in institutions and exhibitions, including at the Villa Stuck in Munich and as part of Gallery Weekend Berlin. In addition to his artistic work, Ullrich works intensively in the editorial and commercial sector, realizing projects for international fashion brands as well as leading culture and fashion magazines.
