Marcus GAAB

Marcus GAAB is a Berlin based award winning director and photographer with a progressive and inquisitive approach of photography and design. He is an experimental perfectionist, known by his unconventional sets and combination of styles. His works are authentic, full of character and with a distinctive coolness. His images are elevated with an edgy twist, but always composed with elegance. His work is a unique variety in film, still-life, fashion, interior, portraits and moving images.

Biography

German-born Marcus Gaab studied photography at the Folkwang University of Essen, where he graduated with distinction.
In 1996, he embarked on a freelance career, focusing on creative projects that merge his chief interest: photography, travel and his family.
He has since shot for dozens of publications, including i-D, Interview, Vanity Fair, GQ, The New York Times and V, as well as for clients such as Nike, BMW and Hermès, picking up multiple design awards in the process.

The Gaabs

In partnership with his wife, Christiane Bördner, Gaab has launched a creative consultancy, The Gaabs. As well as publishing I Love You magazine, the pair developed Endless, a travel magazine first published in fall 2011. Gaab divides his time between Berlin and New York.
